Happy Sunday picture - Porta Nigra -Trier - Germany

My Happy Sunday picture was taken last year in Trier (Germany).
As one of the most famous Roman buildings, the Porta Nigra can count
on many visitors.

This grand building was built in grey sandstone between 186 and 200 BC.
It was a part of the four city gates, which stood at each side of the roughly
rectangular Roman city.

Today the monument, including the upper floors, is open for public.
Since 1996 it is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with
other monuments and buildings in Trier.

I liked the Porta Nigra, the city of Trier and the Moselle region in Germany
very much. It is certainly worth a visit. I wish you all a very happy Sunday
and a good start of the brand new week!
