About me
My name is Kathleen Van Lierop, founder of All About Royal Families.
I am a royal writer, and royal travel admirer, with a lifelong dedication to European royal history, royal families, and the cultural heritage connected to them.
My love for royalty and history was passed on to me with a spoon by my grandmother. From an early age, she introduced me to stories of queens, emperors, royal courts, historic journeys, and family dynasties. Royal history was not something distant or academic; it was part of everyday conversation, imagination, and memory. Through her stories, I learned that royal history is ultimately about people, continuity, tradition, and the passage of time.
That early influence shaped my way of looking at history: not as a collection of isolated facts, but as an ongoing narrative connecting past and present. What began as childhood fascination gradually evolved into serious research, writing, travel, and long-term documentation of royal families and their historical context.

Education, structure & planning
Alongside my historical interests, I obtained a Graduate/Bachelor degree in Accountancy and Taxation (Accountancy Fiscaliteit). This background has had a lasting influence on the way I work.
It taught me:
* critical analysis of sources
* long-term thinking
and, above all, the importance of clear planning and structure
Writing, copywriting & storytelling
In addition to my academic background, I also studied copywriting and storytelling. This enables me to translate complex historical material into clear, engaging, and accessible narratives for a broad international audience.
Whether I write about royal genealogy, historic anniversaries, or royal destinations, my aim is always to connect facts with emotion and context, without sensationalism.
What I do
Through All About Royal Families, I create well-researched and carefully written content about:
* European royal families and dynasties
* Royal history and genealogy
* Royal traditions, anniversaries, and historic milestones
* Royal destinations, palaces, exhibitions, and cultural heritage
This platform has grown into an internationally read reference point for readers who value depth, nuance, and respectful historical storytelling.
