His parents were Ferdinand II and Marie Christina of Savoy.

There was a link with Austria trough his spouse: Maria Sophie of Bavaria.

Maria Sophie of Bavaria was a sister of Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sisi).

In 1861, The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies became a part of the then new
Kingdom Italy.

Francis II died in 1894 in Arco.

The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg, Margarita was born at the Royal Palace in Athens on 18 April 1905.  Family Through her mother, Margarita was the eldest great-great grandchild of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom .
