January 1st:. King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark will host their New Years Party.
They will be accompanied by Crown Prince Christian, Queen Margrethe, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte.
January 1st.: Prince Hisahito of Japan will attend New Year Receptions.
January 6th.: The Pascua Militar is a military ceremony that takes place every 6 January in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace of Madrid.
January 11th - January 12th: King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria will start their work year by attending the Folk och Försvars rikskonferens in Sälen.
January 14th.: Queen Máxima of the Netherlands will officially open the 40th edition of Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) at De Oosterpoort in Groningen.
January 15th.: The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will be in Sheffield.

In January 1539, the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth I of England took place.
7 January 1937: Princess Juliana of The Netherlands (later she became Queen) married Prince Bernhard zur Lippe-Biesterfeld in The Hague.
