Princess Katherine of Greece and Denmark was born on May 4th. 1913 in Athens.

Her parents were Constantine I of Greece and Sophia of Prussia.


King George I of Greece and Olga Konstantinovna of Russia.
Frederick III, German Emperor and Empress Victoria (the eldest child of 
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert)


Princess Katherine had 5 siblings:

3 brothers: George, Alexander & Paul, who became all Kings of the Hellenes
2 sisters: Helen (who married Carol II of Romania) and Irene 
(who married Aimone of Savoy, Duke of Spoleto).

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (husband of Queen Elizabeth II) was
her first cousin.


In 1917 her parents exiled and moved to Switzerland. Later the family
moved to Florence (Italy). There Katherine started painting. 

In 1935 her brother George became King of Greece. She returned back
to Greece and joined the Red Cross during World War II.

On April 1947 Princess Katherine married Major Richard Campbell Brandram.
They had 1 child: Richard Paul George Andrew Brandram.

Princess Katherine was the longest surviving great grandchild of 
Queen Victoria. 

She died on October 2nd. 2007 in London. 
Princess Katherine was buried at the Royal Cemetery of Tatoi Palace in Athens.
