OTD 20 August 1752 Landgravine Friederike of Hesse-Darmstadt
Princess Friederike Caroline Luise of Hesse-Darmstadt was born on
August 20th. 1752. Her parents were Prince Georg William of
Hesse-Darmstadt and Countess Maria Louise Albertine of
Leiningen-Falkenburg-Dagsburg.
On September 18th. 1768 she married Duke Charles of Mecklenburg-
Strelitz. They would have 10 children. Two of her daughters even
became Queen Consort. Louise married Frederick William III
of Prussia and Frederica married Ernst August I of Hanover.
Princess Friederike of Hesse-Darmstadt is a direct ancestor of inter alia:
Queen Margrethe II of Denmark;
King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands;
King Philippe of Belgium;
King Harald of Norway;
Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg.
She died on May 22nd. 1782 at the age of 29, three days after she gave
birth to her 10th. child. She was buried in the Royal Crypt of the church
of St.John the Baptist in Mirow (northern Germany).
