Since 15 November 2009 Ambiorix is Royal Warrant Holder of the Belgian
Royal Court but the Shoe Store also has a nice history.
Some History
Ambiorix was founded in 1895 by Louis Steyns in Verviers (Belgium).
From 1907 unwards the fabric moved to Tongeren. During the 1950's they
employed some 250 people.
In 1999, Ambiorix was sold by George Steyns, the grandson of the founder.
Sylvain Gielen and an investment group acquired the fabric.
Since January 2007, the Vavedin familial group owns the company. The
firm has around 60 employers and around 100.000 pair of shoes were
produced a year.
Shops
Nowadays, Ambiorix has shops in Antwerp, Hasselt and in Brussels,
capital of Belgium.

Besides Royal Warrant Holder, Ambiorix is sponsor of the Belgian National
football team the Red Devils and supplier of the National Olympic Team.
