Royal Highlights of September 2025

Royal diary
On September 2nd.: Queen Mathilde of Belgium will visit the "De Vijvers residential care centre as part of the ‘Te Gek!?’ campaign."
On September 6th.: Queen Sonja of Norway will unveil the “Fjordafolket” monument at the Norwegian Fjord Centre (Geiranger) and she will attend a Gala Dinner the same evening.
On September 7th: Princess Madeleine of Sweden will attend the Min Stora Dag day at Gröna Lund, that will open the park exclusively for children with serious illnesses and diagnoses.
On September 8th.: Queen Máxima of The Netherlands will open the "Waste Awareness Week" in Cultuur Haven Veghel.
On September 8th.: Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex will be in the United Kingdom to attend the 20th. anniversary of the Well Child Awards. More on this link.
On September 9th: The King of Sweden presides over the Opening of Parliament, delivering a national address and marking the beginning of the Riksdag’s working session.
On September 9th.: King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will visit Flevoland (inter alia Lelystad, Almere and Zeewolde). They will have a busy schedule this week.

On September 16th: The 3rd. Tuesday of September it's Prince's Day in The Netherlands. this is the traditional opening of the Dutch parliamentary year—also known as Budget Day—and a centerpiece of royal and state ceremony.
The President of the United States of America has accepted an invitation from the King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from 17 to 19 September 2025. His Majesty will host the President and Mrs Trump at Windsor Castle. (Source picture on top of this article: Wikipedia)

On September 18-22: The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh embark on an official visit to Japan, celebrating the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.

September 1, 1715 – Death of Louis XIV of France
The Sun King, who reigned for 72 years, passed away, marking one of history’s longest reigns. His death ushered in the reign of his young great-grandson, Louis XV.
September 7, 1533 – Birth of Elizabeth I
Queen Elizabeth I was born to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn—her eventual rule would herald the Elizabethan Golden Age.
September 7, 1930: King Baudouin was born at the Chateau of Stuyvenberg, son of King Leopold III and Princess Astrid of Sweden.
September 8, 2022 – Death of Queen Elizabeth II; Accession of Charles III

September 25, 1983: Former King Leopold III passed away in Brussels, marking the end of an era that included a controversial reign and eventual abdication.
September 25, 1506: Philip of Austria, Duke of Burgundy and King Consort of Castile and León through marriage to Queen Juana I, died—closing a chapter of dynastic complexities in medieval Spain.
