Discovering two royal working palaces
After a wonderful journey, I am finally back home, with my camera full of memories and my notebook filled with stories waiting to be shared. As a travel blogger with a passion for royal history and royal families, there is nothing quite like visiting the places where history comes to life. This trip offered a unique opportunity to explore not one, but two remarkable royal working palaces: the Royal Palace of Brussels and Buckingham Palace.
The Royal Palace of Brussels welcomed visitors once again this summer. However, I had already seen the fascinating exhibition dedicated to Queen Louise d'Orléans in Namur.
The real treasure was the garden.Hidden in the heart of Brussels, the palace gardens offered a peaceful oasis away from the bustling city. Even the palace groundskeeper's lawn mower became an unexpected attraction, reminding me that these historic residences are not only monuments of the past but also living places that require daily care and attention.
Buckingham Palace was equally unforgettable. This year's visit was different from previous years, as the magnificent State Rooms are currently undergoing an extensive renovation.
We booked a guided tour of the beautifully restored East Wing. Accompanied by an excellent guide, we heard fascinating stories and delightful anecdotes that brought the palace to life. Photography was not permitted during the tour, making the experience feel even more exclusive and encouraging everyone to simply enjoy the moment. Walking behind the famous palace railings and stepping into the Balcony Room, where so many historic moments have begun before members of the Royal Family appear on the balcony, was truly unforgettable. It offered a rare glimpse behind the scenes of one of the world's most iconic royal residences.
Over the coming weeks, I look forward to sharing my experiences, photographs, and the remarkable royal history behind the many royal destinations I visited during this journey. From historic palaces to hidden royal treasures, I cannot wait to take you along on this adventure.
I hope you will join me as we continue exploring royal destinations, royal history, and the fascinating world of royal families together.
