All About Royal Families

15 August marks the B-Day of Anne, Princess Royal.To celebrate her B-Day here are some lovely pictures of her on several occasions.  Queen Elisabeth, Princess Anne and Prince Charles and then Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1953) In June 1970, Prince Charles and Princess Anne visited the White House and the Nixon family. Anne is 17th in the line of succession to the British throne and has been Princess Royal since 1987. Born at Clarence House, Anne was educated at Benenden School and began undertaking royal duties upon adulthood. She became a respected equestrian, winning one gold medal in 1971 and two silver medals in 1975 at the European Eventing Championships. During the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, a lot of new books are issued, which is a delight for us royalty watchers and bloggers. One of the newest is The Queen - 70 Glorious years. About the book This is an official souvenir publication of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and issued by the Royal Collection Trust.  Through photographs the book illustrates the most memorable events in the reign of Britain's longest serving monarch.  It is like browsing in a beautiful family album. The book is divided in clear chapters as: - early life; - iconic portraits; - the role of the monarch; - traveling in the kingdom and the commonwealth; - the day job; - family; and milestones. During the covid pandemic I really missed the tiara moments of the royals, though I found some solace in beautiful books. One of them was published on 1 December 2021 and written/collected by photographer Chris Jackson. The book came just in time for Christmas and New Year. It is a collection of the most beautiful pictures of Queen Elizabeth II during the two most recent decades of her reign. It also mentions the highlights of the royal year in the United Kingdom. The book is devided into 7 chapters: - An extraordinary reign; - Duty and Dignity; - Global Icon; - Never out of fashion; - Family First; - Horses and Highlands; - Passing on the Baton. This is a wonderful book for the royal collection.  I hope there will be plenty of more royal books and souvenirs for the Platium Jubilee.  Who is Chris Jackson? Elizabeth was born at 02:40 (GMT) on 21 April 1926, during the reign of her paternal grandfather, King George V. Her father, the Duke of York (later King George VI), was the second son of the King.  Her mother, the Duchess of York (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother), was the youngest daughter of Scottish aristocrat Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne.  In 2022, the Royal Family released this picture & tweet on Twitter and on  social media It's always nice to see such beautiful pictures!  Queen Elizabeth II died on 8 September 2022 at Balmoral Castle.
