Constantine II was born on June 2nd. 1940 in Athens. He was the only son of King Paul
and Queen Consort Frederika of Greece.

His sister is the Queen Consort of Spain,
Queen Sofía. His other (youngest) sister is unmarried.
Constantine II married Princess Anne-Marie, the younger sister of
Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.

They have 5 children:
1/ Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark;
2/ Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, Prince of Denmark;
3/ Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark;
4/ Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark;
5/ Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark.
In 1973, there was a referendum in Greece to confirm the
abolition of the Greek Monarchy.
69 % voted against the monarchy,
while 31 % voted pro.
Since then, Constantine II and his wife,
Queen Anne-Marie live in exile in London.
