Her parents were Constantine I of Greece and Sophie of Prussia.

Her paternal grandparents were George I of Greece and Olga Konstantinovna
of Russia.

Her maternal grandparents were Frederick III, German Emperor and 
Victoria, Princess Royal. 

Through Victoria, Princess Royal, Irene of Greece and Denmark
was a great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria of The United Kingdom.

In 1939, Princess Irene married Prince Aimone, Duke of Aosta and Duke of Spoleto.
They had one child.

Croatia

In 1941, Prince Aimone was proclaimed King of the independent state of Croatia. 
The Royal never set one foot on the territory. In 1943 he abdicated.

Princess Irene died on April 15th. 1974 in Italy.
