Today in History - July 3rd. 1576 - Duchess Anna of Prussia
Duchess Anna was on July 3rd. 1576 in Königsberg (now located in Germany)
as the daughter of Albert Frederick, Duke of Prussia and Marie Eleonore of Cleves.
Anna wasn't only heir of Prussia but also of Cleves, Jülich, Berg, Mark and
Ravensberg.
So, she married John Sigismund, Elector of Brandenburg. They had 8 children.
Intellectually she was more superior to her husband.
She died on August 30th. 1649 in Berlin.

As you can see on the picture, she wasn't known for her beauty but Anna
had certainly other qualities.
