Today in History: September 13th. 1916 - Birth of Roald Dahl
On September 13th. 1916, Roald Dahl, one of my favorite childhood writers
was born. Besides that, he also was a British novelist, a short story writer, a
poet, a screenwriter and a even a fighting pilot. During World War II, Dahl
served as pilot with the Royal Air Force.
From Roald Dahl's books, 250 milion copies have sold worldwide.
His most famous (and my favorite) works are inter alia:
James and the Giant Peach;
Charly and the Chocolate Factory;
Mathilda;
The Witches;
etc...
Roald Dahl died on November 23rd. 1990.
