Caroline Augusta of Bavaria was born on  February 8th. 1792.

Her parents were King Maximilian I of Bavaria and his first wife, Augusta Wilhelmina of Hesse-Darmstadt.

In 1808, Caroline married William, Crown Prince of Württemberg. This was arranged to avoid a political marriage organized by Napoleon. After the ceremony her spouse said: "We are victims of politics". They divorced in 1814. The marriage was dissolved by Pope Pius VII.

In 1816, Caroline married Francis I, Emperor of Austria & King of Hungary and Bohemia. They had no children.

She became very popular in Austria, due to her charity work. Caroline founded some hospitals and residences for the poor.

After the death of her husband, she moved to Salzburg. Caroline was close friends with her sister, Archduchess Sophie of Austria and with her niece, Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) as well.

Caroline Augusta of Bavaria died on February 9th. 1873.

The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg, Margarita was born at the Royal Palace in Athens on 18 April 1905.  Family Through her mother, Margarita was the eldest great-great grandchild of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom . Contrary to the custom of the time, her father attended her birth because her grandmother, Queen Olga, believed that "it is only justice that men see the suffering they cause to their wives, and from which they completely escape".
