Louise (in German Luise) of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was born on March 10th. 1776 in
Hanover (Germany).

Her parents were Charles II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg -Strelitz and
Landgravine Friederike of Hesse-Darmstadt.

On December 24th. 1793 she married Frederick William III of Prussia.
The marriage was happy, they had 10 children.

She was inter alia the mother of my yesterday's Today in History about
William I.

On November 16th. 1797 Frederick William succeeded the throne of Prussia.
Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz became Queen Consort.

Queen Louise was very popular and became a real fashion icon.

On July 19th. 1810, Queen Louise died. She was buried in the Mausoleum of
Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin.

Last year, I had the chance to visit Berlin and Charlottenburg Palace.
I also visited the Mausoleum.

On 14 May 2022 Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan passed away at the age of 73. Family Khalifa was born on 7 September 1948 at Qasr Al-Muwaiji, Al Ain, in Abu Dhabi (then part of the Trucial States), the eldest son of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Hassa bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Education   He was a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Crown Prince When his father, Zayed, became Emir of Abu Dhabi in 1966, Khalifa was appointed the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi and Head of the Courts Department in Al Ain.
