After the great exhibition of 1851, Prince Albert (husband of Queen Victoria)
wanted some permanent Houses for Art & Culture.

Finally the Royal Albert Hall was opened on March 29th. 1871. 
On the opening ceremony, Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII)
gave a speech.
