Today in History - April 7th. 1845 - Julie Clary, Queen Consort of Spain and the Indies, Naples and Sicily

Julie Clary was born on December 26th.1771 in Marseille (France).
She was the daughter of a wealthy silk merchant called François Clary.




Her sister Desirée Clary married Marshal Bernadette and became
Queen Consort of Sweden and Norway.

Julie Clary married on August 1st. 1794 Joseph Bonaparte, the elder
brother of Napoleon.

In 1806 her spouse became King of Naples.
In 1808 he was made King of Spain.

Julie Clary died on April 7th. 1845 in Florence (Italy).
