Today in History - June 27th. 1655 - Eleonora Gonzaga

September 23rd. 1598 marks the birth of Eleonora Gonzaga. She was the daughter
of Vincenzo I Gonzaga and Eleonora de' Medici.

Eleonora Gonzaga was known for her beauty and that took the attention of
Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor. 

On February 2nd. 1622 she married the Emperor in Innsbruck.
The Royal Couple had no children but Eleonora became the stepmother
of the children from the Emperor's first marriage.

Eleonora died on June 27th. 1655 in Vienna.
