History On This Day - September 11th. 1937 - Birth of Paola Ruffo di Calabria

September 11th. 1937 marks the birth of Paola Ruffo di Calabria.
This event took place in Forte dei Marmi in Italy.

Her parents had been Fulco, Prince Ruffo di Calabria and
Luisa Gazelli dei Conti di Rossana.

On July 2nd. 1959 Paola Ruffi di Calabria married
Albert, Prince of Liège (son of King Leopold III of Belgium and
Queen Astrid). They would have 3 children together:

King Philippe of the Belgians;
Princess Astrid;
Prince Laurent.

From August 9th. 1993 till July 21st. 2013 Paola became
Queen of the Belgians. Now she still has the title
Queen of Belgium.
