About the movie
Grace of Monaco is about the life of the movie star Grace Kelly. It is
focused on the period when she already is a Princess of Monaco. She
had a crisis in her marriage during Monaco's dispute with the French
President: Charles de Gaulle. Meanwhile Alfred Hitchcock visited her
in Monaco, offering her a role in his movie Marnie.
During the diplomatic war between France and Monaco, Princess
Grace had her own struggles.
However she decided to take up more responsibility and became the
real Princess of Monaco, in the hope that everything would turn out
well for the Principality.

I saw the movie Grace of Monaco for the first time at the Movie Theater in
Amersfoort, The Netherlands in 2014. I was there together with my husband
and Oscar Meijer (creator of the Dutch Blog 'De Staat Van Oranje', see next
link).
Although the critics were very bad and the Royal Family of Monaco boycotted
the movie at Cannes, I liked it very much.
In July 2018, Grace of Monaco, was shown on Vijf TV, one of the
Commercial television stations of Belgium. Although I saw the movie
before, I enjoyed every minute watching it. Nicole Kidman always is one of
my favourite actresses and the more she really was a Grace Kelly look-alike.
At the Imdb database, Grace of Monaco is rated 5,70 on 10, see this link.
It is always sad that movies about the life of royals are rated so small.
Perhaps royalty fans and history lovers should give their own rate :-)
