Princess Elisabeth of Belgium turns 18 years
Princess Elisabeth of Belgium turns 18 years on Friday 25 October 2019.
Princess Elisabeth was born on 25 October 2001 at the Erasmus Hospital
in Anderlecht. Her parents were Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium (now
King) and Crown Princess Mathilde (now Queen).
Her full name was: Elisabeth Theresia Maria Helena
Elisabeth was named after Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (the great grandmother
of King Philippe of Belgium)
Theresia was named after the great grandmother of Queen Mathilde
Maria is a common name in the Belgian royal family
Helena is named after the sister of Queen Mathilde.
To mark this important royal occasion, a ceremony and a B-Day party
took place. This was broadcasted by the 4 BIG television stations
of Belgium: VTM, Eén, RTL and RTBF.
There also is released a beautiful post stamp with the picture of
Princess Elisabeth taken by her dad King Philippe of Belgium.
The Belgian paper Het Nieuwsblad had made a survey on the occasion of
the 18th. B-Day of Princess Elisabeth. These were the results:
- 91 % of the Belgians do trust Princess Elisabeth;
- 55% of the Belgians believe that the royal family still has the right to
exist (in Flanders 49%, which is a bit low, I think).
However the most important thing is: from her 18th. B-day, Princess
Elisabeth can become Queen of Belgium.
Lots of members of the Belgian royal family were present:
- King Philippe of the Belgians;
- Queen Mathilde of the Belgians;
- Prince Gabriel of Belgium;
- Prince Emmanuel of Belgium;
- Princess Eléonore of Belgium;
- King Albert of Belgium;
- Queen Paola of Belgium;
- Princess Astrid of Belgium;
- Prince Amedeo of Belgium;
- Prince Laurent of Belgium;
- Princess Claire of Belgium.

What do you think about the style of the royal men and ladies for this
special B-Day ceremony?
Later (this evening) there will be a dinner and a ball for Crown Princess
Elisabeth 's B-Day!
What a beautiful, intelligent and confident woman will be our future Queen
of Belgium!

I think that Queen Mathilde has more and more the
same style of hair as the late Queen Fabiola of
Belgium. However she really was a proud mum.
