Some important facts

✎ He already signed 24,000 signatures to laws and royal decrees, according to a report from the royal family. 

👉The monarch had 1,200 visits, receptions and other activities on his agenda and made 26 state visits abroad.

He didn't want to rule under the name Willem (William IV). Anyway on 30 April 2023, King Willem-Alexander reigns for 10 year over the Netherlands.

To mark this special occasion I asked 5 Dutch royalty watchers how they think about the 10th Jubilee of King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands.

Eerst was er de aankondiging van de abdicatie van koningin  Beatrix op 28 januari 2013. Wat was uw gevoel erbij?  First there was the announcement of the Queen Beatrix' abdication on January 28, 2013. How did you feel about it?

Wills Vendrig: Beatrix maakte op mijn verjaardag haar abdicatie  bekend. Het was bijzonder dat ik toen telefoontjes kreeg dat er een toespraak ging plaatsvinden en of ik dit al wist. 

Wills Vendrig: Beatrix announced her abdication on my birthday. It was special that I received calls that a speech was coming and if I already knew this.

Oscar: De aankondiging van Koningin Beatrix dat zij zou abdiceren kwam voor mij als een verrassing. Ik had bedacht dat de Koningin dat nooit zou doen met haar 75ste verjaardag want dat zou een precedentwerking kunnen hebben voor de volgende Koning. Vijfenzeventig als‘pensioenleeftijd’ voor Vorst . Prinses Juliana vertelde ooit in een radiointerview dat zij “ lekker niet met met zeventig aftrad om geen precedent te scheppen” 

Oscar: Queen Beatrix's announcement that she would abdicate came as a surprise to me. I had thought that the Queen would never do that on her 75th birthday because that could set a precedent for the next King. Seventy-five as "retirement age" for a King or Queen. Princess Juliana once said in a radio
interview that she "didn't resign at seventy so as not to create a precedent".

Netty: Hoewel het op een dag waarschijnlijk wel zou gebeuren, kwam het uiteindelijk toch nog best onverwachts. Een paar dagen ervoor had koningin Beatrix het bij het staatsbezoek in Singapore nog over haar intieme 75ste verjaardagsfeest gehad en over haar goede gezondheid. Maar toen het persbericht op 28 januari tegen de avond binnenkwam dat ze een toespraak op tv zou gaan houden,
evenals ministerpresident Mark Rutte, was het wel meteen duidelijk dat ze na 33 jaar af ging treden. Ik denk dat iedereen haar nog wel wat jaartjes rust gunde, en dat zijn inmiddels al tien jaar.

Netty Although it would probably have happened one day, it ended up being quite unexpected. A few days before, Queen Beatrix had talked about her intimate 75th birthday party and her good
health during her state visit to Singapore. But when the press release came in on January 28 towards the evening that she, as well as Prime Minister Mark Rutte, was going to give a  speech on tv, it was immediately clear that she was going to step down after 33 years. I think everyone allowed her
a few more years of rest, and that has been for ten years now.

Elma: Er werd in die dagen alwel veel gespeculeerd wanneer koningin Beatrix zou aftreden, maar toen de aankondiging kwam, was het toch wel een verrassing. Persoonlijk vond ik het jammer, maar het tijdstip schijnt goed gekozen te zijn. 200 jaar koninkrijk en dan wisseling van de wacht, en daarnaast waren er natuurlijk ook de zorgen om Friso. Begrijpelijk dat koningin Beatrix er voor haar zoon en zijn gezin wilde zijn.

Elma: In those days there was already a lot of speculation when Queen Beatrix would abdicate, but when the announcement came, it was a surprise. Personally I thought it was a pity, but the time seems to have been well chosen. 200 years of kingdom and then the changing of the power, of course there were also concerns about Friso. It is understandable that Queen Beatrix wanted to be there for her son and his family.

Bjorn: Ik weet nog goed dat ik er als elfjarige op de bank naar zat te kijken. Ik kende Koningin Beatrix met haar lieve uitstraling natuurlijk al heel mijn leven, maar verder wist ik niet veel van deze
mevrouw. Ik kreeg op dat moment een soort historisch besef. Dit moment is dan ook het startpunt geweest voor de grote interesse die ik tot op de dag van vandaag heb in de Oranjes.

Bjorn: I remember sitting on the couch watching it as an eleven-year-old. Of course I had known Queen Beatrix with her sweet appearance all my life, but otherwise I didn't know much about this lady. At that moment I had a kind of historical realization. This moment was therefore the starting point for the
great interest that I have in the Oranjes to this day.

Dan vond 30 april 2013 plaats in Amsterdam. Hoe heeft u deze beleefd? Wat waren de emoties? De sfeer? Kon u de koning of de buitenlandse gasten spreken en groeten?

Then April 30, 2013 took place in Amsterdam. How did you experience this? What were the emotions? The atmosphere? Were you able to speak and greet the king or the foreign guests?

Bjorn: De dag van de inhuldiging heb ik thuis beleefd. Ik weet nog dat ik de dagen van te voren uitzocht hoe laat de uitzending zou beginnen en fantaseerde hoe alles uit zou zien. In de maanden voordien maakte ik postuum kennis met de oude koningin, Juliana, en verdiepte me in de verdere geschiedenis van de Oranjes. Een passie ontstond.

Bjorn: I experienced the day of the inauguration at home. I remember working out the days in advance at what time the broadcast would start and fantasizing what everything would look like. In the months before, I became acquainted posthumously with the old queen, Juliana, and immersed myself in the further history of the Oranges. A passion arose.

Oscar: De Inhuldiging kwam voor mij wellicht te vroeg want ik leed aan een hardnekkige longontsteking. Gelukkig vond mijn huisarts het wel goed dat ik naar de Dam ging, haar vertelde
ik niet dat ik er de nacht zou staan. De zondag ervoor was ik gaan kijken naar de versiering en toen besloten dat het de moeite was om aanwezig te zijn. In 1980 had mijn moeder mij uitdrukkelijk
verboden naar de Dam te gaan omdat ik toen midden in examentijd zat en er rottigheid voorspeld was. Achteraf ben ik moeder nog steeds dankbaar! Dus het was voor mij uiterst belangrijk deze Inhuldiging van Koning Willem-Alexander wel bij te wonen. Naast ons stond een team van de Japanse TV die er alles aan deed om onze plekken te bemachtigen want hun Kroonprinselijk paar was aanwezig en zo vaak kwam de toenmalige Kroonprinses niet in het openbaar. Het emotionele hoogtepunt was toch wel toen Zijne Majesteit met de historische Kroningsmantel en de Koningin in haar blauwe japon vanaf het Paleis naar de Nieuwe Kerk schreden. Ik stond recht voor de deur waar het Koninklijk Paar uitkwam en onder de pergola naar de Kerk ging om de Eed op de grondwet af te leggen.

Just recovered from pneumonia

Oscar: The Inauguration came perhaps too early for me because I suffered from persistent pneumonia. Fortunately, my doctor thought it was good that I went to Dam Square, I didn't tell her that I would spend the night there. The Sunday before I went to look at the decorations and then decided it was worth it to be there. In 1980 my mother had expressly forbidden me to go to Dam Square because I was in the middle of exam time and troubles were predicted. In retrospect, I am still grateful to mom! So it was extremely important for me to attend this Inauguration of King Willem-Alexander.

Next to us was a team from Japanese TV who did everything they could to get our seats because their Crown Prince couple was present and the then Crown Princess did not appear in public that often. The emotional highlight was surely when His Majesty with the historic Coronation Mantle and the Queen
in her blue gown strode from the Palace to the Nieuwe Kerk. I stood right in front of the door where the Royal Couple came out and went under the pergola to the Church to take the Oath on the Constitution.

Wills: Ik was bij een kennis om het te bekijken op tv. Het was erg mooi en heel bijzonder om het mee te maken via de tv.

Wills: I was with an acquaintance to watch it on TV. It was very beautiful and very special to experience it through TV.

Elma: De troonswisseling heb ik gedeeltelijk op de tv bekeken. Wederom indrukwekkend, vooral het moment dat Willem-Alexander samen met Maxima naar de Nieuwe Kerk liep, zo statig en oh die jurk van Maxima... echt een kippelmoment. Voor de rest de dag in de regio doorgebracht met alle festiviteiten die toen plaatsvonden. 

Elma: I partially watched the change of throne on TV. Impressive again, for the moment that Willem-Alexander walked to the Nieuwe Kerk with Maxima, so stately and oh that dress from
Maxima... I got really goosebumps. Spent the rest of the day in the region with all the festivities
that took place at the time.

Netty: Ik wilde beslist naar Amsterdam, maar moest wel aan het werk. Als royalty journalist kwam ik helaas niet verder dan het perscentrum in de Beurs van Berlage, vlakbij de kerk. Op grote schermen kon iedereen daarop volgen wat er gebeurde. Vlak voor de balkonscène ben ik toch even naar buiten geweest. De Dam kwam ik niet op, veel te vol, en ik moest op de schermen kijken wat er gebeurde, maar toch was ik even deel van die enthousiaste mensenmassa. Toch heel bijzonder. In het perscentrum waren ook Japanse media aanwezig. Toen het kroonprinselijke paar bij de kerk arriveerde, was ik bijna net zo blij hen te zien als die Japanners. Eentje vroeg me later waarom ik met hen meegejuicht had.
Nou ja, gewoon, omdat ik het zo fijn vond dat ze er ondanks haar stressgerelateerde gezondheidsproblemen toch bij was. 's Avonds, toen het perscentrum al redelijk uitgestorven was, hield
ik het niet meer uit. Met een vriend ben ik toen nog bij het Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ gaan kijken. De rondvaartboten die aankwamen met het nieuwe koningspaar en hun dochters, de gasten, het was
allemaal wat ver weg om goed te kunnen zien, maar ik had uiteindelijk toch nog iets gezien.

Netty: I definitely wanted to go to Amsterdam, but I had to get to work. As a royalty journalist I unfortunately did not get any further than the press center in the Beurs van Berlage, near the church. Everyone could follow what was happening on large screens. Just before the balcony scene I went outside for a while. I didn't enter Dam Square, much too full, and I had to watch what was happening on the screens, but I was still part of that enthusiastic crowd for a while. Still very special. Japanese
media were also present in the press center. When the Crown Prince couple arrived at the church, I was almost as happy to see them as those Japanese. One later asked me why I had cheered with them.
Well, just because I was so happy that she was there despite her stress-related health problems. In the evening, when the press center was already quite deserted, I couldn't stand it any longer. A friend and
I then went to have a look at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. The tour boats that arrived with the new royal couple and their daughters, the guests, it was all a bit far away to see properly, but I finally saw  something.

Wat vindt u positief aan koning Willem-Alexander?

What do you like about King Willem-Alexander?

Oscar: De Koning is een verbinder, dat is zijn taak ja, maar het zit ook in zijn DNA en dat doet de Koning in mijn oordeel goed. Hij weet dat in zijn toespraken goed te kanaliseren. Ik erger mij dan ook enorm aan de in mijn ogen onterechte kritiek op Zijne Majesteit. De Koning heeft inderdaad een inschattingsfout gemaakt met zijn reis naar Griekenland terwijl de regels tegen verspreiding van COVID-19 voor de bevolking juist strenger werden. Dit is ook iets wat de Minister-President aan te rekenen valt, meer nog dan de Koning had hij er alert op moeten zijn. De kritiek op de Koning valt niet los te zien van een algemene onvrede in het Koninkrijk. Ik hoop dat die ontevredenheid snel wegebt en
ik hoop dat Koningsdag in mijn geboortestad Rotterdam het keerpunt moge zijn. 

Oscar: The King is a connector, that is his task yes, but it is also in his DNA and in my opinion the King does that well. He knows how to channel that well in his speeches. I am therefore extremely annoyed by the, in my view, unjustified criticism about His Majesty. The King has indeed made an error of judgment with his trip to Greece, while the rules against the spread of COVID-19 for the population had become stricter. This is also something that the Prime Minister can be blamed for, even more than the King,
he should have been alert to it. The criticism of the King cannot be seen separately from a general discontent in the Kingdom. I hope that dissatisfaction soon fades away and I hope that King's Day
in my hometown of Rotterdam may be the turning point.

Wills: Hij is een goede verbindende factor. Staat goed in deze huidige tijd, weet veel van de problemen van deze generatie jongeren, jongvolwassenen. Maar weet ook waarmee de oudere generatie mee zit. Helaas had hij beter thuis kunnen blijven met de corona pandemie en hun vakantie naar Griekenland. De vakantievilla die prins Willem-Alexander en prinses Máxima aan de kust van Mozambique lieten bouwen was niet een goede zet en na kritiek zijn ze hier mee gestopt en zijn ze hier nooit vakantie gaan vieren.

Wills: He is a good connecting factor. Stands well in this current time, knows a lot about the problems of this generation of young people, young adults. But also knows what the older generation has to deal with. Unfortunately, he should have stayed home with the corona pandemic and their holiday to Greece. The holiday villa that Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima had built on the coast

of Mozambique was not a good move and after criticism they stopped this and never went on holiday here.

Netty: Koning Willem-Alexander is flink losser dan zijn moeder, ook wat jovialer. Hij weet over het algemeen heel goed wanneer dat wel kan en wanneer niet. Hij en koningin Máxima zetten er flink vaart achter, bijvoorbeeld wat het aantal staatsbezoeken betreft. Soms vraag ik me wel eens af hoe ze dat volhouden. Het programma is altijd overvol. Ik ben geen fan van de niet vooraf aangekondigde bezoeken in het land. Ik zou het ook fijn vinden als ze de bezoeken eens wat meer over het land gingen verspreiden. In de meeste provincies van het land zie je het koningspaar maar zelden.

Netty: King Willem-Alexander is considerably more relaxed than his mother, also more jovial. He generally knows very well when he can and when he can't. He and Queen Máxima are speeding things up, for example in terms of the number of state visits. Sometimes I wonder how they keep up.

The program is always packed. I am not a fan of the unannounced visits to the country. I would also

like it if they spread the visits a bit more across the country. In most provinces of the country you rarely see the royal couple.

Bjorn: De Koning is zichzelf, binnen de kaders die zijn ambt toelaat. Zijn van nature a-majesteitelijke karakter maakt hem benaderbaar en menselijk, maar maakt het ambt ook kwetsbaar. Het lukt hem
over het algemeen goed om te vertegenwoordigen, samenbinden en aanmoedigen. Al is het maar door een luisterend oor te bieden. Koning Willem-Alexander en Koningin Máxima zijn een hedendaags Koningspaar, met de werkethos van managers van een groot bedrijf. Ze hebben het goed voor met het Koninkrijk en haar inwoners. Wat mij betreft de beste ambassadeurs die we voor Nederland hebben, in binnen- en buitenland.

Bjorn: The King is himself, within the frameworks his statute allows.His naturally a-majestic character makes him approachable and human, but also makes the office vulnerable. He generally succeeds
well in representing, binding and encouraging. Even if it is just by offering a listening ear. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are a contemporary royal couple, with the work ethic of managers of a large company. They have good intentions for the Kingdom and its inhabitants. As far as I'm concerned, the best ambassadors we have for the Netherlands, at home and abroad.

Elma: Ik denk dat de koning het goed doet, wel met vallen en opstaan zoals ieder ander mens. Hij lijkt betrokken bij de mensen, denk daarbij aan MH17 en andere pijnlijke momenten voor de mensen. Het koningsschap is natuurlijk niet gemakkelijk, zeker in de huidige tijd met alles sociale media, mensen met een kortlontje en het tonen van weinig respect voor de koning. Tegenwoordig mag je alles maar zeggen terwijl de koning en zijn gezin er eigenlijk niks tegen kunnen doen... Iets negatiefs? Ja het valt op dat de koning veel buitenlandse bezoeken aflegt ( zoals staatsbezoeken) en dat de tegenbezoeken

wat dat betreft een beetje tegenvallen. Als je een bericht krijgt van weer een buitenlandse bezoek, denk ik wel eens : " Alweer?" 

Elma: I think the king is doing well, with trial and error like any other human being. He seems involved with the people, think of MH17 and other painful moments for the people. The monarchy is of course not easy, especially in the current time with everything on social media, people with a short fuse and showing little respect for the king. Nowadays you can say anything while the king and  his family can't really do anything about it... Something negative? Yes, it is striking that the king makes many foreign visits (such as state visits) and that the number of counter visits are a bit disappointing in that regard. When you receive a message from yet another foreign visit, I sometimes think: "Again?"

Wat vindt u van de kritieken op de monarchie? 

What do you think about the criticism about the monarchy?

Bjorn: Niets is perfect. Waar mensen handelen, worden verbeterpunten geboren. Met opbouwende kritiek is niets mis mee. Ik denk dat het voor een instituut als het Koninklijk Huis belangrijk is signalen van kritiek uit de maatschappij op te vangen en te bekijken wat je er eventueel mee zou kunnen doen. De nadruk op eventueel, want je doet het nooit voor iedereen goed en een eigen koers varen is ook belangrijk. 

Bjorn: Nothing is perfect. Where people act, points for improvement are born. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. I think it is important for an institution like the Royal House to receive signals of criticism from society and to see what you could possibly do with them. The emphasis on possibly, because you never do it right for everyone and sailing your own course is also important.

Oscar: Ik hoop dat het zal overwaaien. Oscar: I hope it will blow over.

Netty: Tja, die vakantie in Griekenland tijdens de corona-periode hè, dat kon dus echt niet. Ik vind het eigenlijk onbegrijpelijk dat hij dat zelf vooraf niet heeft beseft. Ik ben het echt niet altijd met alle kritiek eens, en vind mensen vaak nogal goedgelovig. Er wordt van alles geroepen zonder dat dingen nagecheckt worden. Want ja, de wat onbetrouwbaardere (online) media en mensen zonder kennis van de monarchie roepen dit en dat hè. Dan zal het wel waar zijn.

Netty: Well, that holiday in Greece during the corona period, eh, that was really a mistake. I actually find it incomprehensible that he himself did not realize this beforehand. I really don't always agree with all criticisms, and often find people rather gullible. All sorts of things are called without things being checked. Because yes, the somewhat more unreliable (online) media and people without knowledge of the monarchy say this and that. Then it must be true.

Wills: Het is wat overdreven. Een president is ook niet altijd goed, kijk naar China en Rusland, Tunesië. Helaas had hij beter thuis kunnen blijven met de corona pandemie en hun vakantie naar Griekenland. 

Wills: It's a bit exaggerated. A president is not always the solution  either, look at China and Russia, Tunisia. Unfortunately, he should have stayed home with the corona pandemic and their holiday to Greece.

Elma: Sommige kritieken op de koning kan ik best inkomen, zoals het niet naleven van de coronaregels. Daar  had de koning, zijn adviseurs en de ministerpresident wat beter moeten nadenken.  De dure prive
uitgaven in tijden dat de eigen bevolking het zwaar heeft, dat is ook niet altijd even handig. Ik gun de koning zijn pleziertjes, maar toch? De koning heeft tenslotte een voorbeeld functie... De kritieken op de monarchie vind ik niet nodig, we moeten juist blij zijn met een monarchie, kijk in de landen om je heen die een republiek zijn.. een president etc is ook niet alles, voor het land niet en financieel ook niet. Daarbij heeft de Monarchie Nederland veel goeds gebracht. Mensen die kritiek leveren zouden zich wat meer in de monarchie en geschiedenis moeten verdiepen. 

Elma: I can accept some criticisms about the king, such as not complying with the corona rules. The king, his advisers and the prime minister should have thought a little more about that. The expensive private expenses in times when the local population is struggling, that is not always convenient. I grant the king his pleasures, but still? After all, the king has an exemplary function... I don't think the criticisms of the monarchy are necessary, we should just be happy with a monarchy, look at the countries around you that are a republic .. a president alos is not perfect, not for the country and not financially either. In addition, it brought the Monarchy Netherlands a lot of good. People who criticize should learn more about the monarchy and history.

Heb je de koning al ontmoet?

Have you met the King before?

Oscar: Ik heb de Koning geregeld kunnen zien op Prinsjesdagen en vooral op Koningsdagen waar ik altijd even kort met hem spreek en hem mijn traditionele drop overhandig. Koningsdag is het moment
om alle leden van de Koninklijke familie te groeten.

Oscar: I met the King often. Being able to see him on Prince's Days and especially on King's Days where I always speak briefly with him and hand him my traditional licorice. King's Day is the time to
greet all members of the Royal family.

Wills: Ja verschillende keren op Koningsdag. Een hand en soms fijne verjaardag als praatje.

Wills: Yes several times on King's Day. A hand and sometimes happy birthday as a chat.

Elma: Ik heb de koning niet echt persoonlijk ontmoet, aangezien ik een regio woon waar de koning voor zover bekend maar zelden of nooit komt. De enige keer dat ik de koning van een afstandje heb gezien was een aantal jaren geleden in Urk en Nagele. Al werd het zicht wel ontnomen door die telelenzen die in je nek en gezicht gegooid werden. Maar wie weet dat het ooit nog een keer gaat gebeuren... 

Elma: I have not really met the king personally, as I live in a region where the king as far as I known to rarely or never visit. The only time I saw the king from a distance was a few years ago in Urk en Nagele. Although the view was taken away by those telephoto lenses that were thrown in your neck and face. But who knows, if it will ever happen again.

Netty: Zowel koning Willem-Alexander als koningin Máxima heb ik al meermaals gezien. Ik was in de provincies Groningen, Drenthe en Friesland bij de provincietour, ook in Oldenburg en Leer toen ze Nedersaksen, Duitsland, bezochten. En natuurlijk zijn ze in de afgelopen tien jaar ook een paar keer in Groningen geweest, o.a. op Koningsdag 2018. Koningsdag in eigen stad, op loopafstand, vond ik wel heel mooi om eens mee te maken.

Netty: I have seen both King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima several times. I was in the provinces of Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland on the province tour, also in Oldenburg and Leer when they visited Lower Saxony, Germany. And of course they have also visited Groningen a few times in the
past ten years, including on King's Day 2018. King's Day in my own city, within walking distance, I thought it was very nice to experience.

Bjorn: Ja. Ik ontmoet Koning Willem-Alexander jaarlijks op Koningsdag. 
Bjorn: Yes. I meet King Willem-Alexander every year on King's Day.

Wat wenst u, uzelf en de koning toe op koningsdag?

What do you wish for yourself and the king on King's Day?

Netty: Mezelf een rustige werkdag en een lekker gebakje/koek :-) Ik hoop dat de koning een hele fijne 56ste verjaardag en 10de regeringsjubileum zal hebben, met bij voorkeur vooral enthousiaste
mensen en geen zichtbare en luid hoorbare demonstranten.

Netty: Myself a quiet working day and a nice cake / cake :-) I hope the king will have a very nice 56th birthday and 10th government anniversary, preferably with enthusiastic people and no visible and loudly audible demonstrators.

Bjorn: Een zonnige dag met lieve mensen. En een glaasje om te proosten. 
Bjorn: A sunny day with lovely people. And a glass to toast.

Oscar: Ik hoop de koning persoonlijk te mogen feliciteren met zijn verjaardag. 
Oscar: I hope to congratulate the king on his birthday personally.

Elma: Ik wens allereerst dan de koning een fijne verjaardag met een ieder om hem heen die hem lief is. Voor mijzelf hoop ik op mooi weer, een veel plezier op de verschillende vrijmarkten in de omgeving. 

Elma: First of all I wish the king a happy birthday with everyone around him who is dear to him. For myself I hope for good weather, a lot of fun at the various flea markets in the area.

Wat verwacht u van koningsdag in Rotterdam?

What do you expect from King's Day in Rotterdam?

Wills: Dat het een mooie Koningsdag wordt, want ik ga er zelf naar toe en hoop dan goede foto's te maken. De meest bijzondere Koningsdag was die in 2021 in Eindhoven. Het verslag ervan kunt u

Netty: Geen idee, we zullen het zien. Best een aardig programma met lekker veel muziek, maar of het publiek veel meekrijgt van die lange vaartocht?

Netty: No idea, we'll see. Quite a nice program with a lot of music, but I don't know if the audience will have a good view during the long cruise?

Elma: Ik heb me niet zo verdiept in het programma van Rotterdam, maar aangezien het een stad is met vele verschillende culturen zal het zeker een mooi feest worden. Dat is Rotterdam toevertrouwd. Ik hoop dat het voor de koning en zijn gezin en alle aanwezigen een gezellige en geslaagde wordt! 

Elma: I haven't really looked into Rotterdam's programme, but since it is a city with many different cultures, it will certainly be a great party. That has been entrusted to Rotterdam. I hope it will be a
pleasant and successful one for the king and his family and all those present!

Bjorn:  Zoals altijd zal het een feest worden. Het is leuk om te zien hoe de desbetreffende stad zich profileert. 

Bjorn: As always it will be a party. It's nice to see how the city in question presents itself.

Besluit / Conclusion

It was very exciting to make this interview on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. What would the well-known royalty watchers and bloggers think of
the questions? How would they answer? I really want to thank all the participants and I hope you'll visit their websites and blogs too.
