Sandringham House and its history

On 20 december 2018, Queen Elizabeth II took the train from London to Norfolk. There the Queen will traditionally stay at Sandringham House during the winter months. It really is her favourite Christmas destination. At Sandringham members of the royal family will join Her majesty with the festivities such as Christmas and New Years's Evy. Sandringham House not only has a great role in present times but it also had a wonderful royal history. The Real or Royal Alcázar is situated near the Cathedral and the General Archive of the Indies in Seville, which is one of Andalusia's most splendid areas. In 1987 it was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site and in fact it is really worth to be on the list. Originally there was a Roman and later a Visigotic fortress on the place of the Alcázar. Royal Destinations - Pena Palace - Sintra - Portugal

On the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains, above the town of Sintra, a real national Portuguese monument certainly is worth a visit: Pena Palace. Pena Palace - Sintra - Portugal - own picture taken in 2017 This Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal.  Nowadays it is used for state occasions by the President of the Portuguese Republic and other government officials. See more on next link .  Pena Palace entrance Some history The history of the Pena Palace started in the Middle Ages when a chapel  dedicated to Our Lady of Pena was built on the top of the hill above Sintra. Soon there was a Royal Connection. In 1493, King John II of Portugal and his wife, Queen Leonor, made a pilgrimage to the site to fulfill a vow. His successor, King Manuel I, also was very fond of this place, he ordered the construction of a monastery, which was donated to the Order
