Royal Calendar of 18 February

Mary I of England (born on 18 February 1516 - died on 17 November
1558). Her parents were King Henry VIII of England and Catherina of
Aragon. She was a member of the House of Tudor.
Princess Christina of the Netherlands (born on 18 February 1947 -
died on 16 August 2019). Her parents were Queen Juliana of the
Netherlands and Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld. She was a
member of the House of Orange-Nassau.
Queen Komal of Nepal (born on 18 February 1951). She was Queen
Consort of King Gyanendra of Nepal. She was the last Queen Consort
of Nepal before the monarchy was abolished in 2008.
Stéphanie de Lannoy, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.
She was born on 18 february 1984 in Ronse, East Flanders, Belgium.
She married on 20 October 2012 to Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke
of Luxembourg. Through her marriage she is a member of the House
of Nassau-Weilburg.
Battle
On 18 February 1814, the Battle of Montereau was fought between
the army of the French Empire of Napoleon I and an allied army of
the Kingdom of Württember and the Austrian Empire. This battle
ended in a French Victory for Napoleon Bonaparte.
Independence
On 18 February 1965 The Gambia became independent from the
United Kingdom. However Queen Elizabeth II stayed Queen of
The Gambia from 1965 till 1970. She visited the country from
3 till 5 December 1961.
