Royal Calendar of 21 February

This is a very interesting day due to some special royal Birthdays and
unfortunately some days of Death too.

Birthday

Peter III of Russia (born on 21 February 1728 - died on 17 July 1762)
was Emperor / Tsar of Russia for only six months. Then his spouse
Catherina II of Russia took the power. His parents were Charles
Frederick, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp. He was a member of the noble
House of Holstein-Gottorp Romanov.



Catherina of Württemberg (born on 21 February 1783 - died on 29
November 1835) was Queen Consort of Westphalia by marrying
to Jérôme Bonaparte, the youngest brother of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Her parents were Frederick I of Württemberg and Augusta of
Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel.



King Harald V of Norway (born on 21 February 1937)  also
celebrates his birthday. His parents were King Olav V of Norway
and Princess Märtha of Sweden. His paternal grandparents were
Haakon VII of Norway and Maud of Wales. His maternal
grandparents were Prince Carl, Duke of Västergötland and
Princess Ingeborg of Denmark.



Death

King James I of Scotland (born in 1394 - died on 21 February
1437) was King of Scotland from 1406 till 1437. His parents were
Robert III of Scotland and Isabella of Drummond.




Royal Events

Michael (Mikhail) I was elected as Tsar of Russia by the National Assembly
on 21 February 1613. This marked the beginning of the power of the
Romanov Dynasty in Russia.
