All About Royal Families

With the Treetuesday picture of this week I stay in The Netherlands. Netherlands near Maastricht I chose an old picture which my mother took near Maastricht. Maastricht is located in the South East of The Netherlands. Its most famous resident for me is André Rieu.

On April 1st. 1282, Louis (in German: Ludwig) was born in Munich (Germany). Coin of Louis IV Source picture: Wikipedia His parents were Louis II of Bavaria and Matilda of Habsburg. Louis IV married twice: 1/ Beatrix of Swidnica  (1308-1322) 2/ Margaret of Holland (1324-1347) Timeline: 1314: King of the Romans. 1327: King of Italy. 1328: Holy Roman Emperor. Henry was born on March 31st. 1519 near Paris in France. Henry II of France - Source picture: Wikipedia His parents were Francis I of France and Claude, Duchess of Brittany. In 1533 he married Catherine de' Medici. They were both 14 years old. Diane de Poitiers Source picture: Wikipedia Despite the bad marriage, Henry of France and Catherine de'Medici had  10 children together. On June 1559 there was a tournament. Duchess Therese Petrovna of Oldenburg was born on March 30th. 1852 in Saint Petersburg (Russia). Therese Petrovna of Oldenburg Source picture: Wikipedia Her parents were Duke Peter Georgievich of Oldenburg and Princess Therese of Nassau-Weilburg. In 1879 Therese Petrovna of Oldenburg married  George Maximilianovich, also known as Prince Georgii Romanovsky or Georges de Beauharnais. Both parnters where descendants of Tsar Paul I of Russia.
