On 7 February there were lots of interesting royal events around the world. On 7 February 1999, Abdullah II became King of Jordan. He succeeded his father King Hussein of Jordan. On 7 February 1688 Landgravine Marie of Hesse-Kassel was born in Kassel. She married John William Friso, Prince of Orange. She died on 9 April 1765 in Leeuwaarden in nowadays the Netherlands. This day has a few important royal events such as B-days and Deaths. B-Day: Philip II, Duke of Savoy (born on 5 February 1438 - died on 7 November 1497). His father was Louis of Savoy and his mother was Anne of Cyprus. They were members of the House of Savoy. Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark (born in 1972). She married in 2004 to Frederick, Crown Prince of Denmark. Deaths Charles XIII of Sweden (born on 7 October 1748 - died on 5 February 1818). His parents were Adolf Frederick of Sweden and Louisa Ulrika of Prussia. Charles XIII of Sweden was a  member of the House of Holstein-Gottorp. Events On 5 February 1818, Charles XIV John (born on 26 January 1873 - died on 8 March 1844)  became King of Sweden and Norway. He was born as Jean Bernadotte.
