Liberty London United Kingdom One of the most beautiful department stores in London, United Kingdom certainly is Liberty, located on the Great Marlborough Street, near Regent Street. It sells many luxury goods as fashion, cosmetics, fragrances, jewellery, accessoires, homeware, furniture, stationery and gifts. Liberty is known for its floral and graphic prints. Some history In 1843, Arthur Lasenby Liberty was born in Chesham, Buckinhamshire. He was employed by Messrs Farmer and Rogers in Regent Street in 1862. That was the year of the International Exhibition in London. He loaned 2.000 pounds from his future father-in-law and he accepted the lease of half a shop at 218A Regent Street with three staff members. His shop opened during 1875. Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was born on 4 August 1900. Family Her father was Claude Bowes-Lyon the 14th. Earl of Strathmore and Kinghore. Her mother was Cecilia Cavendish-Bentinck, a descendant of the British Prime Minister William Cavendish-Bentinck, 3 rd. Duke of Portland. She also was a descendant of Richard Wellesley, 1st. Marques of Wellesley, Governor of India and a younger brother of another Prime Minister: Arthur Wellesley, 1st. Duke of Wellington. Love and Marriage In 1921, Prince Albert, Duke of York (known as Bertie in the family), second son of King George V asked for her hand but she turned him down. In 1922, Elizabeth was a bridesmaid for Albert's sister Princess Mary, the next month Albert proposed her but she turned him down again. Finally in January 1923, Elizabeth agreed to marry Prince Albert, despite her misgivings for living a royal life. The two would marry on 26 April 1923 at Westminster Abbey. The couple would have 2

Alexandrina Victoria was born on 24 May 1819 at Kensington Palace in London. Arthur Wellesley was born on May 1st. 1769 in Dublin, Ireland. Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington statue in London Family He was the son of the first Earl of Mornington and his wife, Anne, daughter of the first Viscount Dungannon. In 1781, Arthur's father died and his eldest brother Richard inherited his father's earldom. From 1781 to 1784, Arthur Wellesley enrolled at Eton. He hated it and he would have said after the Battle of Waterloo: "The Battle of Waterloo was won on the playing fields of Eton. " In 1785 the young Arthur Wellesley was forced to move to Brussels with his mother. His mother, Anne, was concerned about her son she stated: " I don't know what I shall do with my awkward son Arthur. On July 29th. 1981, the wedding took place between Charles, Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. Charles, Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Book Cover The ceremony was a traditional Church of England wedding ceremony in the gorgeous St. Paul's Cathedral in London. St Paul's Cathedral in London own picture taken in 2016 Charles, Prince of Wales took interest in her as a potential bride in the summer of 1980, when they were guests at a country weekend. Later the Prince invited Lady Diana Spencer for a sailing weekend to Cowes on board of the Royal Brittania. Later Lady Diana was invited at Balmoral Castle where she was well received by the Queen, Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen mother. The engagement On February 24st. 1481 their engagement became official. Lady Diana Spencer selected a large diamond engagement ring with a blue sapphire.
